Research

My research examines digital capitalism, with a particular interest in the platform economy and the transformation of work in the increasingly digitalized cultural and creative industries.

01 Video game industry & work organization

My dissertation compares work organization in the European video game industry in Germany and the United Kingdom: precarious employment, union strategies, and the effect of public funding. I also study how digitalization reshapes adjacent creative industries such as fashion.

02 Platform economy & playbour

Platforms like Roblox, TikTok, or modding communities fuse play and work to the point where the boundary disappears: users, often minors, produce content from which companies extract value. I analyze these new forms of labor and ask what regulation they require.

03 AI, technology & the world of work

From wearables on the shop floor to generative AI: new technologies promise relief but also carry surveillance risks. I examine the conditions of workplace acceptance and the democratic consequences of AI in the world of work.
